Chocolate Sugar Cookies

1 1/2 cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
14 tbsp unsalted butter
1 3/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
1/3 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
1) Preheat oven to 350℉. Position racks in upper-middle and lower-middle positions. Line baking sheets with parchment or wax paper.
2) Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder together. Set aside.
3 Melt 10 tbsp of butter, mix in remaining 4 tbsp of softened butter.
4) Add dark brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to butter. Mix.
5) Add egg and egg yolk. Mix.
6) Add to flour mixture. Mix until dough forms.
7) Roll out 2 tbsp of dough in ball. Roll in granulated sugar, fully coating the dough.
8) Sprinkle remaining sugar over cookies.
9) Bake for 15 minutes, rotating sheet halfway through.
10) Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack and completely cool.
11) Enjoy!
